Stars who despised each other on set

Stars who despised each other on set

When egotistical actors are cooped up together for months on end on a movie set there’s always going to be friction. On the whole though, lavish trailers and massive paychecks help smooth over any niggles. Yet sometimes the angst gets too much for these pampered princes and princesses. They may be actors, but even the most experienced stars can’t hide their genuine dislike of fellow performers.

Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett

The legendary Harrison Ford didn’t take too kindly to whippersnapper Josh Hartnett on the set of ‘Hollywood Homicide’. Ford reportedly referred to Harnett as a "punk", with the young actor retaliating by calling the veteran “an old fart”. As a result the pair barely made eye contact during filming and continuously picked on each other at press junkets. The film flopped.

Megan Fox and Michael Bay

Megan Fox shot herself in the foot when she slammed ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ director Michael Bay for focusing on special effects and not acting (probably for the best as it starred Shia LaBeouf and, well, Megan Fox). Bay responded with; “That’s Megan Fox for you. She says some very ridiculous things because she’s 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do. You roll your eyes when you see statements like that”. He then didn’t cast her in the next ‘Transformers’ film. Whoops.

Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey

The two came to despise each other after a massive row on the set of ‘Red Dawn’. When Grey was informed that Swayze would play her on-screen romance in the iconic ‘Dirty Dancing’, she was so upset that she almost pulled out. Eventually though they had a deep heart-to-heart and made friends. Years later Grey broke down into tears on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ as she remembered her time with the late actor.

Bill Murray and Lucy Liu

Comedy actor Bill Murray couldn’t even raise a smile whilst filming ‘Charlie’s Angels’, as he took a serious dislike to Lucy Liu. It was rumored that Murray thought Liu had an out-of-control ego and he refused to make any appearances in support of the movie when it came out in 2000. He also turned down reprising the role in the sequel, ‘Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle’. In retrospect a good call.

Bette Davis and Joan Crawford

The granddaddy of Hollywood feuds - Bette Davis and Joan Crawford absolutely loathed one another. While filming ‘What Happened to Baby Jane?’, Davis actually kicked Crawford in the scene when she pushed her down the stairs. In return, when Bette had to drag Joan off her bed, Joan put on a weighted diver's belt underneath her costume, making her heavier to drag.  Naturally, the duo also pitched in with some a-grade bitching. Discussing Davis' hair, Crawfod said: “I don't understand these Poodle cuts on elderly women”. Davis retorted by saying Crawford was “single handedly responsible for the syphilis outbreak in America.” Meow.

Sir Anthony Hopkins and Shirley MacLaine

Anthony Hopkins thought the boisterous Shirley MacLaine was overbearing and was constantly annoyed with her while filming ‘A Change of Seasons’ in 1980.  When asked what she was like, he fumed “she was the most obnoxious actress I have ever worked with." Don’t sugarcoat it Ant!

Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe

Even though Curtis was rumoured to have had an affair with Marilyn Monroe during the making of ‘Some Like It Hot’ in 1959, he still managed to say that "kissing her was like kissing Hitler". She drove him crazy by continually arriving late for filming and always fluffing her lines. To make matter worse, director Billy Wilder would always use Monroe’s best takes while leaving Tony's choice deliveries on the cutting room floor.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes

Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes weren't didn’t exactly see eye to eye by the time ‘Romeo & Juliet’ finished filming. Danes grew tired of DiCaprio's onset pranks, branding him "immature", whilst he found her uptight and prudish. Not exactly star-crossed lovers.

Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren

Sophia Loren was cool and seductive while Marlon Brando was edgy and angry. Inevitably, when the two came together during the shooting of ‘A Countess from Hong Kong’ in 1966, the fur began to fly. A feud broke out after he asked her, right in the middle of shooting a love scene: "did you know you have hairs up your nostrils?" Smooth.

Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore

This feud during filming of ‘Red Planet’ began when Kilmer got annoyed over a fancy exercise machine Sizemore demanded the production ship from England to the set in Australia. Eventually the two hated each other so much Kilmer would reportedly not come out of his trailer if Tom was on the set. Many of their scenes together were even filmed over shoulders of photo doubles, if we are to believe some reports. Also, Kilmer reportedly refused to say Sizemore's character's name, substituting it for things like "Hey, you!".

Which celebrity is the youngest?

Which celebrity is the youngest?

We all know some celebs have their ways of looking younger, but these celebrity age comparisons are unbelievable…

Amy Childs and Emma Watson

 Emma is older.

The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs is only 20 years old, while Emma Watson is 21, almost a year older. This could be surprising, however Amy is a lover of fake tan, hair extensions, oodles of make-up and has already had her breasts enhanced: gamine Emma is a fan of the natural look, which takes years off her. Being fake can sometimes be ageing! (Link)

Mark Wright and Robert Pattinson

 Robert is older.

Yes ladies, boyish R-Patz is a good year older than TOWIE's Mark Wright. The club promoter-turned-reality TV star could pass for a man in his early 30s with his dapper suits and overly-neat appearance (and too many late nights, perhaps?) while messy-haired and bright-eyed Rob looks a good few years younger. Mark is 24; Rob is 25. (Link)

Kourtney and Kim Kardashian

 Kourtney is older.

The Kardashian sisters are a beautiful bunch, there's no denying that. But we're still surprised that Kourtney, at 32, is two years older than Kim. Not that Kim looks old for her age... Kourtney just looks extremely young! She could pass for a teenager, almost. (Link)

Rachel Stevens and Katie Price

 Rachel is older.

Katie Price would probably look her age if she ditched the fake tan and the heaps of make-up. Rachel Stevens, on the other hand, probably still can't buy alcohol at the supermarket without taking her ID with her, just in case. They're both the same age (33) but Rachel is older. (Link)

Alex Reid and Peter Andre

 Peter is older.

Can you believe Katie Price's exes are three years apart in age, with Pete being the older of the two at 38? The suave singer is naturally blessed with smooth, dark skin and sparkly eyes. Also, he's not a competitive fighter, which could be Alex's downfall. Cage-fighting Alex is 35. (Link)

Megan Fox and Florence Welch

 Megan is older.

Sultry actress Megan Fox is 25; singer Florence is just 24. Sure, they're only months apart in age but we're surprised that Flo is in her mid-20s! (Link)

Gillian McKeith and Denise Welch

 Denise is older.
These two blonde fifty-somethings have both recently been on reality TV shows (Gillian was on I'm A Celeb, Denise was on Dancing On Ice) but that's where the similarities end. Denise, who still enjoys a good night out on the town as well as a long-distance run, is a very youthful 53, while years of eating a strict diet (and probing other people's poo) hasn't worked too many wonders for Gillian, 51.(Link)

Nikki Grahame and Anne Hathaway

 Nikki is older.

Now, we're not saying 28-year-old Anne looks old for her years, but she does exude a kind of mature elegance. And Big Brother's Nikki Grahame? Well, she's 29 but looks about 12, especially when she pulls faces like that. (Link)

Brad Pitt and Prince Edward

 Brad is older.

OK, so it's probably not exactly fair to compare anybody to Brad Pitt, but it's incredible all the same. Brad Pitt turned 48 at the end of this year, while Prince Edward only turned 47 in March. (Link)

Whitney Port and Lady Gaga

 Whitney is older.
Former The Hills star Whitney Port is a year older than Lady Gaga who, at 25, confuses us. The Gaga singer has so much talent and prowess, not to mention the weirdest array of costumes, wigs and hats ever, she's an ageless entity and 25 doesn't seem to fit. Whitney, 26, exudes a peachy glow with her all-American goodness. (Link)

 Konnie Huq and Hannah Waterman

 Konnie is older.

While former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq could easily pass for 25, actress Hannah Waterman has admitted that her face looks like a "bag of spanners" since she lost weight. We can't believe these two were born just days apart... Konnie probably struggles to get into nightclubs! The TV presenter is a mere five days older than the actress. (Link)

Russell Brand and Alan Carr

 Russell is older.
The Americanisation of Russell Brand, 35, is now complete. The comic-turned-actor looks far more polished than fellow Brit comic Alan Carr, who is a year younger at 34. Hollywood has waved its magic wand over the formerly dishevelled Russell... looking squeaky clean clearly takes the years off. (Link)

Mark Owen and Dara O'Briain

 Mark is older.

Dara O'Briain is one of our favourite comedians, so we don't care that he almost looks old enough to be Mark Owen's dad. Who, by the way, has a baby face to rival the likes of Macaulay Culkin. The Take That star is the oldest here by a few weeks. Still surprising though. (Link)

Heidi Montag and Emmy Rossum

 Emmy is older.

The Hills star Heidi Montag infamously had 10 plastic surgeries completed on the same day, but rather than making her look younger, they aged her. Now she could almost pass for actress Emmy Rossum's mother! (Link)

Johnny Depp and Todd Carty

 Johnny is older.

It's hard to believe Johnny is even over the age of 35 with those cheekbones and his full head of hair. Former EastEnders actor Todd Carty looks his age, but Johnny is nothing short of a miracle. Maybe he lied on his CV about his date of birth? Rather ironically, the latest Pirates of the Caribbean instalment includes the search for the Fountain of Youth. We think Johnny's already been there. (Link)

Liv Tyler and Maggie Gyllenhaal

 Liv is older.

Liv Tyler has a dewy, timeless look, while Jake Gyllenhaal's sister Maggie looks like she's had a few too many late nights! Both actresses live in New York and both are 33, but Liv is older by several months. (Link)

Aston Merrygold and Tinie Tempah

 Aston is older.

Would you believe baby-faced Aston from JLS is older than Tinie Tempah? Aston turned 23 a few months ago, while Tinie is a year younger but could easily pass for 30. (Link)

Rachel Weisz and Lucy Benjamin

 Rachel is older.

EastEnders actress Lucy and The Constant Gardener star Rachel are both in their 40s, but it looks like Rachel is stuck in a time warp. The movie actress is 41, while Lucy turns 41 in a few months. (Link)

Why Kate and William’s Official Photo Points to a Happier Future than Charles and Diana

Why Kate and William’s Official Photo Points to a Happier Future than Charles and Diana

Happy: William and Kate surrounded by, clockwise bottom right, The Hon. Margarita Armstrong-Jones, Miss Eliza Lopes, Miss Grace van Cutsem, Lady Louise Windsor, Master Tom Pettifer, Master William Lowther-Pinkerton
The echoes of a Royal wedding from an earlier era are difficult to ignore.
The backdrop is the same: the opulent red-and-gold decor of the grand Throne Room at Buckingham Palace. And the mischievous smiles on the faces of some of the bridesmaids and page boys – and endearingly bewildered expressions on the others – are strikingly similar.
But, 30 years after the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer, the official wedding picture of Prince William and Kate Middleton also reflects the differences between the two couples’ relationships.

The 1981 wedding party. From back, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Diana and Charles, Edward van Cutsem; front: Lord Nicholas Windsor, Clementine Hambro, Catherine Cameron, India Hicks, Sarah-Jane Gaselee and Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones
The photograph of Charles and Diana, taken by Patrick Lichfield, seemed to capture a moment of spontaneous informality, with the wedding party collapsing in a fit of giggles. But, as we now know, the warmth was not reflected in the marriage itself.
By contrast, Kate and William’s picture, by photographer Hugo Burnand, appears more formal, despite little Tom Pettifer’s insistence on leaning in as close to the bride as possible.

Full of joy and not a care in the world: William and Kate smile broadly as they stand arm-in-arm in the official wedding album
Despite the organised nature of their shot, they look relaxed, their smiles unforced, and her hand rests on his knee.
Mario Testino may have received praise for his engagement portraits of William and Kate, but their choice of Hugo Burnand to take their official wedding pictures has cemented the latter’s status as the Royal Family’s favourite photographer.
Mr Burnand, 47, has been entrusted with capturing many of the Royals’ most important occasions in recent years, including Prince Charles’s 60th birthday and his marriage to Camilla. He has also won the respect of the Queen and Princes William and Harry after taking their pictures on previous occasions.

The family photo: Front row left to right is Grace van Cutsem, Eliza Lopes, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Queen, Margarita Armstrong-Jones, Louise Windsor, William Lowther-Pinkerton. Back Row left to right is Tom Pettifer, Camilla, Charles, Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate, Michael Middleton, Carole Middleton, James Middleton and Philippa Middleton

An Old Harrovian and seasoned society photographer known for his charm and discretion, as well as his talent for portraits, Mr Burnand represents a more traditional choice than Mr Testino, who is famed for his glossy celebrity and fashion photoshoots.
However, Mr Burnand has photographed his share of A-listers, including Bill Clinton, President Mikhail Gorbachev, Baroness Thatcher, Victoria Beckham and Michael Jackson. He was also responsible for taking the pictures at the 1996 wedding of David and Samantha Cameron.
The Royal Wedding commission was a major coup for the London-based father of four, who has worked at Tatler magazine since 1993.
Yesterday, he described it as ‘the gig of the century’, adding: ‘It was amazing, incredible, and there were a couple of moments where I did pinch myself.’
Of the mood in the Throne Room, he said: ‘From where I was, and from their point of view, it was two families coming together and that was the feeling – the sense of family and love going between everyone.’
He described the happy couple as ‘just so nice as individuals and as a pair’, and revealed that Kate, who has worked as a photographer for her parents’ company Party Pieces, had contributed her own ideas for the pictures.
Mr Burnand got to know Prince William when he photographed him on his polo pony and at Windsor Castle as part of the wedding party for his father’s second marriage in 2005.
He shares with the Prince a tragedy in his past: he, too, lost his mother in a car accident. Susan Gordon died in 1964, the year after he was born.
His stepmother Ursy Burnand, whom his father Peter married in 1967, is also a photographer – and was one of his assistants on the Royal Wedding shoot.
Born in Cannes, France, Mr Burnand won his first photography competition at the age of seven, at Cheam School, which was also attended by Prince Philip and Prince Charles.
During his time at Harrow, he became the school’s unofficial photographer, taking portraits of school-leavers.
He did not become a professional photographer until 1991, after a string of jobs including stable hand and insurance broker.

Illuminati Royal Wedding – Kate Gets New Coat Of Arms Complete With Pyramid

Illuminati Royal Wedding – Kate Gets New Coat Of Arms Complete With Pyramid

Kate Middleton’s family has had a coat of arms designed, which will feature on a souvenir royal wedding programme.

Her father Michael commissioned the heraldic design to mark his daughter’s marriage to Prince William on 29 April.

It features three acorn sprigs, one for each of the Middletons’ children: an idea Miss Middleton suggested.
Royal experts say the coat of arms – which cost £4,400 to make – marks the increased social status of her parents and her potential as a future queen.
Thomas Woodcock, Garter Principal King of Arms, from the College of Arms in the City of London, helped the Middletons with the design.
He said the oak tree was a traditional symbol of England and a feature of west Berkshire, where the family have lived for 30 years.
Mr Woodcock said the gold chevron in the centre of the coat of arms signified Miss Middleton’s mother, Carole, whose maiden name was Goldsmith.
