Hear ye, Hear ye! Nominees for the 2011 Daytime Emmy Awards are in.
The Young and the Restless, General Hospital, and The Bold and the Beautiful, as well as the recently cancelled All My Children, led the nominees for Outstanding Drama Series at the 38th annual show. But General Hospital and The Young and The Restless are the nominee frontrunners, receiving 21 and 20 nominations respectively. Y&R nabbed nods for outstanding lead actress in a series for Michelle Stafford, outstanding lead actor for Christian LeBlanc and supporting actress in a drama series for Tricia Cast. Days of Our Lives star Chandler Massey also gained a nomination in the outstanding younger actor in a drama series category for his role as Will Horton.
The Doctors and Dr. Oz are going head-to-head for outstanding talk show informative, along with Dr. Phil. Outstanding talk show entertainment nominees are Rachael Ray, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Live with Regis and Kelly, and The View. Outstanding talk show host contenders are Rachael Ray; Dr. Travis Stork, Dr. Andrew Ordon, Dr. Jim Sears, Dr. Lisa Masterson of The Doctors; Dr. Mehmet Oz; Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa; and the women of The View, including Sherri Shepherd, Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg. The exiting Oprah Winfrey Show received five nods altogether, including makeup, directing, lighting and editing. There were no nominations
Meanwhile, Pat Sajak and Alex Trebek will be honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards at the awards ceremony on June 19 at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Let’s Make a Deal’s Wayne Brady, who is nominated for a gong as Outstanding Talk Show Host, will host the Daytime Emmys show, airing June 19 on CBS.
The Academy is giving Lifetime Achievement Awards to game show hosts Alex Trebek of Jeopardy! and Pat Sajak of Wheel of Fortune
